English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
