The President Invites Loved Ones of Attacked Military Members to the White House
Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.
He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.
Details on the Devastating Shooting
US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in the nation's capital.
Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.
Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their memory.
White House Call
The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a White House visit for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president told reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Attendees gathered over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.
Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid public safety in the capital.
Paying Tribute to the Soldier
“Sarah was the individual that educators desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her previous school, told the press. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to assist people.”
Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while armed.
The event led the administration to pause refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.
Condition of the Airman
The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the AP.
He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor the governor stated on a news program.
The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on a news show that she planned to meet with the family.
Memory of Sarah Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, as stated by the state guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had bravery,” the governor informed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
