First-choice Lineup

Jarell Quansah Tested by the opposition's primary attacker through Hoxha. Played in a central role early on then shifted to the flank once Saka entered the fray. 7

John Stones Pushed into midfield on the ball, as he has done previously. On occasion was too casual when carrying play with the tactic discontinued after the break. 6

The tall defender Always dangerous from dead balls, as always, perhaps is a replacement for Stones in the backline as opposed to alongside him. One wayward ball in the second half came close to the first goal from the visitors. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly A further confident performance from the 20-year-old following his debut against another side. Saka did not capitalize on the opportunity from an exquisite flick over the opposing backline. The left-back spot is his to lose already. 7

Adam Wharton His first start in an England shirt. Slightly loose in possession but his inswinging set-pieces posed a danger. A handy game manager for the boss to utilize versus sides that sit back. Cautioned after a reckless challenge. Six

Declan Rice Set-pieces from dead balls and free-kicks created chances. Was given license to move on the left only to be offside upon receiving in shooting positions. Awarded a deserved substitution after an hour. Six

The star midfielder Played in a forward position on the right while also contributed with defensive duties. Displayed flashes of quality and scuffed an attempt wide. Substituted in the closing stages by a teammate, a fellow player, after being booked. 7

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity before halftime, his strike excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate hanging back, he had to stretch the play on the right but his crosses from wide areas were inconsistent. Taken off late in the match. 6

Harry Kane The decisive figure netting two more strikes at international level. The opener a typical close-range tap-in and his next a classy finish with his head having drifted away away from the opposition. At 32, he continues to improve and England stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. 8/10

The attacker Had difficulty to influence play from the left. Was presented with a presentable chance after being played in from a teammate but the keeper kept it out. His replacement produced a bigger effect in his place. 5/10
