Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , after last week's talk regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests was the amount of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this weekend.

However it proved positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always sending more than four defenders but they could plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show how Denver could be the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has excelled big while recent RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows that Denver represent a team aiming to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and maintains in positive situations.

This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw all over, but they lack in the same way as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, and he is so athletic.

His strengths are his movement, being able to throw while moving, as well as finding varied release points to make throws as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

If you consistently run the ball it eats up the clock and forces the defence to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the field downfield and horizontally. It can be draining.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. I think the success the Broncos are having on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're working above average, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need is to continue this path.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win a game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is surprising considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.

This hinges on what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
