Nearly twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the area, producing wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Homeowners observed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.

Meanwhile, around 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to 598 calls for help across the state, primarily for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both regions.
Medical Alert
Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
