It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her newest gem.

Then best known as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was out Australia required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those physical issues have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
